Combining Experiences: mountains, lakes and small town America
The Mountains
Welcome to world class skiing without the crowds – and the lines! Schweitzer Mountain offers a 2,900 acres of skiers paradise. And it all comes with one of the most amazing views any ski hill can boast. But the mountains don’t end there. Explore all the awesome hikes and views from the surrounding peaks, pick fresh huckleberries or go on a waterfall tour – all accessible on Forest Service maintained roads and trails.
The Lakes
This is mountain lake country. Lake Pend Oreille is massive and is one of the deepest lakes in the United States. Enjoy water sports, fishing or camp out on the shoreline. You can access Hope, Idaho, Beyond Hope Resort and Bottle Bay for lake snacks an beverages.
Priest lake is about an hour drive and its upper lake is completely uninhabited. The serenity and the views on Priest Lake are sure to inspire.
Small Town America
Sandpoint, Idaho is one of the most quaint and beautiful towns in the world. Real people live here so the vibe isn’t full on resort town. It still has its charm and eccentricity. It supports a thriving artist community of painters, writes and musicians. The restaurants are great and so is the social life.
